CEO Blog: Looking back on 2025

Two Rhythms’ CEO, Gray Hill looks back on a wonderful year for the charity

This year has been really significant for Two Rhythms, and one we’ll remember for a very long time. We’ve grown to two sites in Cardiff, welcomed royalty, celebrated our birthday with guests, families, carers and friends at the Senedd and published groundbreaking research. Here are a few highlights.

Landing in Llanishen

After a long development, we officially began our lease at Cerebral Palsy Cymru’s Therapy Centre in Llanishen, North Cardiff. Growing to two sites means we can run more Two Rhythms sessions than ever before, and thanks to the improved accessibility that the site offers, we’ve welcomed back some former guests, too. If you haven’t had a chance to visit the site yet, please get in touch to arrange popping in.

A joyous and inclusive birthday party

In March, we welcomed friends from across our community to the Senedd in Cardiff Bay. I had the pleasure of officially saying ‘thank you’ to everyone who has been part of the charity’s twenty-five-year journey, and I welcomed Rhys Price, son of our founder Dylis, to share his memories and reflections on his mother’s legacy. The highlight of the day, though, was a wonderful, inclusive performance by the Two Rhythms Creative Facilitators that invited all visitors to join in, making music and moving together.

Gaining and sharing knowledge

In the Summer, we published an Independent Evaluation of Two Rhythms by the University of South Wales. This research, commissioned by the charity and funded by Community Foundation Wales, found six ‘demonstrable impacts’ of our work, including ‘Facilitating Connection’ and ‘Fostering Wellbeing’. We continue to work with our partners in the University to give this fascinating research as much exposure as possible, and utilise it to ‘open doors’ for the charity, as well as organisations across the arts and health sectors.

Gratitude at every step

For anyone who has ever attended a Two Rhythms session, you’ll know that we thank every guest and participant for each expression, be it a song, a dance or even a cheer! I’d like to again thank everyone who has joined us for a session this year, and for contributing your creativity and passion to our work.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to the everyone who supported us in 2025, including the aforementioned ‘Community Foundation Wales’, the ‘Glamorgan Voluntary Service’ and anyone who donated to our ongoing campaigns. Diolch yn fawr iawn.

As we begin to wind down for the year, I would like to express one final thank you to our trustees, our volunteers, and our remarkable team, who give so much love, energy, and commitment to their work creating multi-sensory magic.

For me personally, I’ll soon be celebrating my third anniversary with the charity, and this year saw the culmination of several projects that had been in development since I arrived in 2023. The last three years have flown by, and I’ve no doubt that this dynamic, vibrant, and continually evolving charity will keep the team and me busy for many years to come.

I wish you all a joyous Christmas, and the best of health and wellness for the year ahead.
